The CytoVac Vision and Standards:

CytoVac will strive to prove excellence in cell based personalized therapies, providing new possibilities for treatment of serious disease, in the area of oncology and other life threatening diseases. CytoVac will aim to establish centres both for research and development and for production and distribution of cell based products for medical treatment. CytoVac will promote the development of new therapies and provide facilities for offering cell based therapies to patients worldwide. CytoVac’s activities will be based on commercial principles to ensure that our products and technologies can be further developed and widely used for the benefit of patients.

 

The current focus of CytoVac´s activities is on cell based therapies that exploit and assist the patient’s own immune system. The first product CytoVac is clinically testing is a Prostate cancer vaccine.

 

CytoVac is focused on developing therapeutic principles that are based on and will assist the patient’s natural defence and inherent ability to ameliorate or cure disease - helping nature fight disease!

 

It is the policy of CytoVac always to keep to the highest ethical standards and closely abide by the legal and regulatory framework that regulates our activities while always keeping the well being and needs of patients and our environment in mind.

CytoVac A/S udvikler en ny måde at behandle kræft på. Det første område hvor CytoVac tester sin kræft vaccine på er på prostatakræft. Her er der netop gennemført et fase I klinisk studie med CytoVac's prostatakræft vaccine i samarbejde med Frederikssund Hospital.

Behandlingen tager udgangspunkt i patientens eget immunsystem, idet denne nye behandling vil hjælpe immunsystemet til bedre at kunne tage kampen op imod kræftcellerne.

Vort immunsystem beskytter os hele livet igennem, typisk imod infektioner men også imod alle andre fremmedlegemer, der kommer ind i kroppen. I de seneste år er det blevet klart, at immunsystemet også beskytter os imod vore egne celler, hvis de pludselig opfører sig forkert, som f.eks. kræftceller gør. Fordi kræftceller vokser ukontrolleret og ser unormale ud, vil immunsystemets celler angribe dem.  Kræftcellerne vil dog forsvare sig ved at dæmpe immunsystemet, og derved holder kræftcellerne sig skjult, mens de etablerer sig i kroppen. Når man får kræft er kroppen og vort immunsystem ”godt klar over”, at der er kræftceller i kroppen, og immunsystemet gør, hvad det kan for at bekæmpe kræften. Immunsystemet kan dog være så svækket, at kræftcellerne får overtaget og udvikler sig til kræft.

Med den metode, som CytoVac har udviklet, kan man ud fra en enkelt blodprøve isolere, aktivere og opdyrke visse af immunsystemets celler uden for kroppen. Disse celler vil så kunne leveres tilbage til kræftpatienten og hjælpe patienters immunsystem til at vinde kampen imod kræften.
